Make your own professional 3D Icons

Here’s a sneak peak at a Milkshape (3D modelling software) plugin from PS2Newz that allows you to make a 3D PS2 icon of your own.

This picture shows you the basic Naplink save I created using bmp2icon although the 3D shapes you can make with this plugin are only limited to your imagination!

Rest assured we will have the plugin available for download as soon as it is released

Sneak Peak of Save Text Ed

Here’s a quick look at a project I’ve just picked up again, Save Text Ed allows you to alter all the variable text fields of PS2 Saves, mainly concentrating on Xport saves

click for a larger version

  • Game name is the name of the game and is used for sorting in the Xport software
  • Save name is the name you called your save (level 12 reached etc), used for sorting between several saves for the same game in the Xport software
  • Notes is the text field of Xport saves that you can enter any text into, useful for reminders and any specific instructions needed for the save.
  • Save Text is found in all saves regardless of format, it is the text shown in the PS2 Browser when viewing saves.

Currently all fields except Save Text are editable, when I have implemented editable Save Text facilities I will release a beta to members

MCLoader and Naplink saves update

Just a small update and not critical, the Naplink save now shows as ‘Napalm NapLink’ in the PS2 browser

Finally it’s fixed

Not sure what happened but I obviously ended up with a corrupt file somewhere, the Naplink only save with custom icon has been restored, again, grab it from the original link below and heed the warning about overwriting existing PS2Reality saves

(Naplink is not produced or licenced by PS2 Save Tools, for more information visit www.napalm-x.com)

Fixed save returned

Oddly it appeared to be the custom icon I injected into the save that was causing the error although strangely it errored at the naplink.rar section of the save which is nowhere near the icon.

Regardless I have uploaded the correct working save, grab it from the same download link as before.

Hmm, it’s not my day

I had a working save. Now when I upload it the Xport software crashes upon trying to send over naplink.rar

I will investigate the matter later and see about a fixed file

Fixed Naplink save uploaded

I have removed the old save and uploaded a Naplink only save here

Note: This save will overwrite any existing PS2Reality save, this is required and can be avoided by installing Naplink manually to an existing PS2Reality save via the guide found at here

Problems with Xport save

It seems that the Xport is saving the Naplink and PS2Link directories but not the contents, I’ll be taking a look at a possable way round this later and will post an updated save if it works.

The save available for download does still contain a working version of the PS2Reality Mediaplayer and if you follow our guide you can install Naplink successfully yourself

Updated save available

I’ve updated the Medaplayer, PS2Link + Naplink Xport save from the ‘Using Naplink with the PS2 Independence Exploit’ tutorial with updated copy.cnf scripts, (download removed)
