Placid PS2 Dev have updated the PS2 Icon Format PDF document to v0.5
Check it out in the Documents section
PS2 icon document updated
Save the true icon when using the Xport/Sharkport software!
Yes, it’s true. You can now backup saves with the Xport/Sharkport software and keep the true icon by applying the patch found here
Please note that Datel will most likely NOT support any errors or problems you experience after patching, however they have been tested and no problems were found
Placid PS2 Dev CVS online
Placid PS2 Dev have started the CVS for iPort and ps2lib
ps2lib: Contains sources aswell as LaTeX documentation
iPort: Objective-C sources for the OSX project
iPort is not yet fully functional, you can load icons and view them but USB support has not been implemented yet
Great stuff, keep up the good work
Download url fixed
Gah, I added the wrong url for the PS2SIDC 1.4.8 installer
If you tried to download the installer previously, please try again
PS2 Save ID Changer 1.4.8 Installer added
I’ve added the Installer package of v1.4.8 of PS2SIDC to the Downloads section
I am still commited to changing my programs over to Delphi and therefore I will not be updating PS2SIDC’s GUI (God knows it needs it, this was my first Windows program ever BTW)
The speed increase I have been meaning to implement will also have to wait until the Delphi release, at least you can rest assured that it may be slow but it gets the job done and led onto other tools such as Icon Injector and Save Slicer
OSX project gets a new name
The Placid PS2 Dev project to create a Mac linker for the EMS USB Memory Adpater has gained a new name, iPort
Here’s the info straight from the developers mouth:
I have finally decided on naming my EMS project to ‘iPort’. The name fits in nicely amongst the other savegame transfer tools ‘X-Port’ & ‘nPort’ and as Apple is so keen on using ‘iName’ for their OSX applications the choice was easy.
‘iPort’ is a opensource project of mine to create a OSX client for the EMS USB cable
Their site has also got a new look using Drupal, here’s hoping devleopment continues well and Corner finishes his documents
PS2 Save ID Changer update
I’ve made a new build of PS2 Save ID Changer which should fix the &H8007007E error that some people (including myself) were experiencing, update check and the urls have been updated accordingly too.
Due to an issue with the compiler, the installer package is still on v1.4.7 so it is vital that you apply the 1.4.8 upgrade after installing the package
Switching to Delphi
Well, after a re-install of Windows a few weeks ago I tried using PS2SIDC tonight, and I get the error message: &H8007007E
Anyway, this has prompted me to start converting my programs over to Delphi, starting with PS2SIDC. I should have a beta available in the next few weeks
New additions
I’ve been a bit busy over the last week so a few updates fell at the wayside, these have now been put online
Firstly a PS2 YABASIC File psu file format document by P.I.Nicholson has been addded as well as a breakdown of the Code Save structure by NOVICE, check them out in the documents section
(perhaps I’ll get chance to make a quick guide to save hacking soon..)
The Get_Type code example in the Visual Basic Code section has been updated for more compatability and clarity with suggestions by DCLXVI 29a and may be updated some more after I try out his other suggestion.
You’ll notice a link to the Forum has been added, this is not the same forum as the beta test forum. Feel free to ask about general save/device/software advice there
Save Slicer Beta 2 now available…
…to members, now featuring automatic nPort conversion
