Icon Injector 1.3 update

Icon Injector 1.3 was released today, here’s the change log:

* Changed the way in which Xport files were handled, this should stop Icon Injector crashing with certain problem files.
* Updated the way .psu/.psd files are handled, this is purely to make the code neater, mind you I added loads of messy new code to improve the Xport handling 😀
* Cosmetic change to the Options dialog
* Changed links to reflect new website URL
* Removed Xploder Icon from Installer as it was causing issues with some saves

Visual Basic Code Snippets

I’ve added a new Visual Basic Code Snippets section with a small selection of functions and subroutines to get people started on their own PS2 save tools

Code Snippets on the way

I will soon be adding some new sections to the site, a documents area where you will find breakdowns of the various save formats, details on how saves are stored etc.

Also to be added is a Code Snippets section. I use Visual Basic to program my software, simply because it is easy to learn and there is a lot of documentation out there. During the course of programming I reuse a lot of code from previous software, I am building a collection of useful Functions and Sub Routines so that others can quickly build a program for use on PS2 saves in VB

Cookies to blame

It would appear that cookies were to blame for the Private Messages not working. It is advisable (though not required) that you delete any existing cookie from www.ps2savetools.com, close your browser and next time you log on to PS2 Save Tools Private Messages should be working correctly for you.

Private Messages problem

There is currently an issue with the Private Messages feature of the site, I’m looking into it but until further notice please avoid using this feature

After adding a new link to the database I found a few dead links in the list, I’ve corrected these and they should all work now

New projects on the Mac

Looks like Mac owners will be getting an interface for the EMS USB Memory Adapter thanks to a man named Martin.

Whilst currently in production he does have plans to port it to BSD and Linux and possably Windows (lets hope so).

Another side of the programming lies with Icons and

Martin has already produced a small program to display them on the Mac (not released) as can be seen in this image

More info as it becomes available

FAQ updated

Updated the Xport section and added a new catagory to the FAQ: PS2 Save Tools & Programs. If you know of something that should be addressed in there let me know.

Save Slicer released

Save Slicer allows you to extract the individual data contained within a save, this is particulary useful if you are searching for values that have changed in one section alone.
