GTA: San Andreas Photo Cleaner Update

I’ve added zip support to the program which means you can now just drop your gallery save (AR and Mega X-Key formats only) and in return you get a new zip file containing only cleaned versions of the photos found in the gallery.

As usual grab it from our downloads section

I keep wondering if I should add Xbox Gallery saves support to the original GTA: SA Gallery Viewer, I might work on it but for now this Photo Cleaner should suit most peoples needs ๐Ÿ™‚

Xbox GTA: San Andreas Photo Cleaner

Those with the Xbox version of GTA: San Andreas will have noticed that the photos you can take with the in game camera are stored in a different way to the PS2 yet are still not natively readable on a PC.

GTA: SA Photo Cleaner allows you to quickly convert those raw images into jpeg files viewable on any PC it also vastly reduces the file size of the image without any loss of quality

Note: Xbox GTA: San Andreas only, may or may not work with the PC version and PS2 owners should download GTA: SA Gallery Viewer, an advanced tool needed to view the images in the PS2 gallery.dat

End of an era?

I’ve been mulling over this for some time;

Should PS2 Save Tools shut down in the next year?

The need for the software found here has become less and less and each month I shell out excess hosting/bandwidth fees and each month I get zero donations to keep the site running.
Coupled with the new handheld consoles recently released and the forth-coming ‘big 3’ is there really much interest left in PS2 saves?

In light of this I think I will retire the site and domain name when it’s fees are next up for renewal, until then I shall let the site remain as an archive of software and utilties and of course add anything useful that I come across such as the Max codelist manager (I’ll have it up in the next few days)

I hope you have made good use of the software found here at PS2 Save Tools, if any of you do feel like contributing a small sum as a token of thanks then I will use it to pay for the remaining hosting, as always this site has never been about lining anyones pockets with cash ๐Ÿ™‚

Quick Q&A session

Ok, seems to be a few common questions popping up at the moment, I’ll work on the FAQ section a bit more but for now here’s a quick run down of the most asked:

New GTA: San Andreas Gallery Viewer available

I’ve released a new update (1.4) to GTA: San Andreas Gallery Viewer today, images that were 80KB when extracted to JPEG in older versions are now much smaller, some are as low as 15KB without any loss of quality

Changelog:
v1.4
+Changed: Jpegs are now much smaller than in previous releases but still of the same quality

This is probably the last update to the program until the Xbox/PC version of the game is released, at which point I will make any changes needed for compatability and consider looking into image importing into the gallery.dat file.

GTA: SA Gallery Viewer Repack

Found a small bug with the inbuilt HTML template today so I’ve fixed it and put up a repack of 1.3, it’s the same link as before ๐Ÿ™‚

From the changelog:

v1.3
Repack:
+Fixed: Corrected and tidied built in HTML template
+Changed: Removed replacement when using a template.html file
Base file:
+Added: You can now view you photos in a slideshow
+Added: you can now create a html gallery complete with thumbnails
+Changed: Program exe name has changed to GTAGV.exe
+Added: Now supports XP Themes
+Fixed: I’m sure I fixed something ๐Ÿ˜€

Here’s an example of the default gallery generated by the new HTML Gallery feature (relatively spoiler free but if you don’t want anything ruining at all, don’t look)

For those asking which save transfering device to use, I personally use Datels Max Drive but you are free to use whatever device you can get hold of and PS2 Save builder Supports ๐Ÿ™‚

Does he stop to play? Another GTA: SA gallery Viewer update!

Instead of playing this amazing game I’ve spent the entire evening and night adding more features to GTA: San Andreas Gallery Viewer (more fool me :D)

From the changelog:

+Added: You can now view you photos in a slideshow
+Added: you can now create a html gallery complete with thumbnails
+Changed: Program exe name has changed to GTAGV.exe
+Fixed: I’m sure I fixed something ๐Ÿ˜€

A word about the HTML Gallery option: READ THE README.TXT file, this gives you instructions on how to create a template.html file which the program will use instead of the crummy built in template I made ๐Ÿ˜€

GTA:SA Gallery Viewer update and guide

I’ve had a few questions from people who do not know how to extract the GALLERY.DAT file from their save so I’ve knocked up a little guide for the FAQ section.

The process is the same regardless of what save format you use however it does not cover getting the save to your PC, please refer to your product instruction manual for information on how to do this.

There’s a small update to GTA:SA Gallery viewer, I’ve fixed the stupid mistake I made on the Extract All Images option, it now works as expected ๐Ÿ™‚

GTA: San Andreas Gallery Viewer updated

I’ve been beavering away to make the worlds first public GTA: SA tool a little more useull, here’s the changelog:

+Fixed: Crash issue after saving an image
+Added: Drag and drop support, one file at a time only and there’s still limited checking.
+Added: You can now extract all images to a directory (saved as ‘GTASA image 1.jpg’ etc)
